Frequently asked question: which oxide to choose?

Use Chromatics developer only with Redken Chromatics family of dyes. This is due to the fact that the developer contains an Oleo complex, which is necessary for the dye to work correctly. Using this developer with other dyes may cause unexpected, unpleasant results. Also, do not use oxides other than Chromatics family developers with Redken Chromatics dyes. It is important!

What percentage of oxide should I use?

In most cases, you can adhere to the following rule:

• Developer 10Vol [3%] - for tinting, for coloring previously colored hair. You can't paint over gray hair.
• Developer 20Vol [6%] - tone-on-tone coloring, well suited for covering gray hair, coloring previously undyed hair and roots.
• Developer 30Vol [9%] - for coloring with a tone increase, i.e. if you have your own color at level 6, but want 7.

The hairdresser can combine oxides depending on the type of hair, how the dye applies and other parameters. When dyeing yourself without fear for the result and quality of the hair, you can use 3% and 6% - at these percentages you will not be able to ruin your hair when dyeing Redken Chromatics, even if you try, since the dye itself and the developer contain enough care components to prevent damage hair.
